Magic Trick NFTs - We Just Made History
On February 24, 2021, I minted the first magic secret as an unlockable NFT.
Non-fungible tokens are revolutionizing everything. And now, that includes magic.
​
We implemented a two token system - an effect token and a method token.
The Effect Token is a collectible, it's available HERE
​
Then there is the Method Token which contains the actual secret. It is not for sale, but you can view it HERE
​
The Method Token provides a safe place to store the secret and it allows magicians to claim ownership of an effect without revealing the secret. Check out the press release HERE for more info.

Magicians are Simply Storytellers
We've all heard it before. At least as magicians, it's a common saying. But it wasn't until I read this week's e-copy of Penguin Illusions Weekly that it hit home. They had an article by a non-magician on the power of storytelling. I've attached a snippet of it here but recommend you check out the full thing.

Craving Some Austin Food Right Now
I moved out of Austin after graduating from UT, and of all the things I love about Austin, the one I missed the most is the FOOD!
Kerbey Lane and Franklin's BBQ were some of my favorite places to go, but my #1 spot to go was always Grill Shack. I've attached their menu here:

Need a new movie to watch...
So over the course of this quarantine, I've realized that I've had plenty of time to check out a ton of movies... so having run out of stuff in my "suggested" page of most of my streaming services, my friend showed me this site on the International Movie Database. A ton of people know about the IMDB but not many know that they have a "suggestions" page as well of their top picks. You can check that out at the link below:

Found a crazy app that is insanely good for networking. I've been spending insane hours on this thing. Like seriously, I think my daily average is like 6 hours? IDK. Are Encyclopedias Even a Thing Anymore?
So I remember as a kid, I'd see this massive set of books in the library and think that they contained all the knowledge in the universe. Haven't seen them in years, probably because of Google and Wikipedia these days. So I'm thinking, as a magician, instead of doing tricks with books, which have limited info, what if I could do tricks with Wikipedia, which has unlimited potential. Like, according to this site: www.WikiCount.net, which apparently is the most often updated, Wikipedia currently has over 6 million articles. Think about how much information that is. ​

Harry Houdini, King of Cards
Most people know Harry Houdini as an Escape Artist, but only a few know that he was also known as the King of Cards. He was known for not only being able to tell what card people were thinking of, but also give people the magical ability to guess what he was thinking of. Check out this cool Black and White photograph I found of Houdini preparing to do this trick:
It's pretty great quality considering the time period.

Ghostbusters and ESP
In the movie "Ghostbusters", they test for Extra Sensory Perception, which is basically mind-reading abilities. They do this using ESP cards - containing the circle, cross, wavy lines, square, and star. According to most experts, using a visualization exercise can help. With Halloween coming up fairly quickly, I thought it'd be fun to create a test of this. If anyone would like to try it, let me know.

Do people read their emails?
I was thinking about the concept of a mailing list, but the thing is... I don't like mailing lists. I don't like spam. When I see a "newsletter" in my inbox, I don't click on it. So if you sign up for an email list from me, you're only gonna get relevant info I genuinely think you'll find interesting. That's a promise. But anyway, I figured that an email might be a way to do magic for people who aren't in the room with me, so that's an idea I think is worth exploring at least. Sign up for my email list.

So a friend of mine told me about www.google-stats.com , which has an updated list of what the world is searching. For any of my magician friends, you can check this from time to time to see what topics are trending and what people might be thinking about. Might help you figure out what someone is thinking during a mindreading trick. Muggles, you might find this fun as well, just to see what people are talking about.
